Not always. Many banks issue broker-exclusive rates that aren’t available to you. On top of that, going directly to banks themselves can mean an impersonal process, multiple 'decision in principles' (which can negatively affect credit score), limited products on offer and a lot of time spent searching for the best deal yourself. Then, once you do opt for a deal, you’ll be doing all the admin yourself. We take care of the time-consuming tasks and ensure you get the best deal without impacting your credit score.

While we can see the appeal of a quick and simple online mortgage calculation, these platforms can overlook key details which will impact your lending criteria. They can also be misleading in the way they present information. Additionally, you may have complicated circumstances (self-employment, limited deposit, poor credit history) which would require a specialist broker and lender to look at your case. If that’s the case, you’ll be stuck without anyone to talk to, and they won't be able to facilitate on their own.

Good question. It’s quite simple really. While we work for you for free, we are still reimbursed at the end of the process. The difference is that we draw a fee from the lender you choose to go with, instead of from you directly (or, as many brokers do, both!) This means our recommendations are always impartial and based on the best deal for you, not the best commission for us.
